The reason why I chose English as my major is still a question for myself;actually, I am not sure about it that am I really interested in it or not. When I was in high school, my favorite subject was geography which I was good at, but I did not choose it as my ma in the end .Most students had a specific direction and goal which can support them for the following big exam in the last year of the high school, but I thought I was still in a labyrinth then, I still could not figure out what i want to learn in the next four years. As the time past,i did not make a decision about it untill the grade was out and we had to choose what we wanted and I made a list that English is my first wish[ for no reason]. Many adults say that if you major in English,it will be a great advantage for looking jobs, which may be a major reason why I chose it I thought.Maybe I also envy those whose native language are not English but still can speak English fluently. No mater why I chose this before, I am a freshman now, hoping I can enrich my English skills on each aspect and eventually find the reason why I choose it and enjoy it during the process of learning. But there are some things that disappointed me a little is that some teachers say a lot of things that are not relevant to the subject too often and I think it's bored, although I still think Soochow University is a good place with a lot of great teachers and I will enjoy the time here .
